Why Some Naples Communities Have Their Own Beach Clubs

From golf to fitness, swimming to tennis, some Naples communities have it all. Sometimes too, that includes access to a private beach club. In Southwest Florida, the sand and water are never too far away, so why would some Naples communities have their own beach clubs?
The advantage has to do with access. Public beaches are just that. They’re open to the public, and usually owned and operated by local, country, or state government. While you may have to pay parking fees, you don’t have to have a membership to go to a public beach.
While there are some private beach clubs with membership opportunities out there, some Naples communities have their very own resident-only beach clubs on-site. Oftentimes, this helps set them apart from other amenity-rich, upscale communities that homebuyers in Naples have to choose from, further elevating the list of a community’s resort-like experiences.
Port Royal Club is a members-only beach club that’s associated with the affluent Port Royal neighborhood of Naples. You have to own a property here to gain membership.
Once accepted, members can use the private beach, as well as access tennis facilities, fitness, dining, and a spa. There’s also a beachfront swimming pool at Port Royal and a new clubhouse is in the works.
Pelican Bay actually has two different beaches. Amenities include a full-service bar, beach lounge chairs and umbrellas, cabanas, and beachfront dining opportunities. Pelican Bay also offers kayaks and sailboats and provides access to its three miles of sand via a tram system.
The Moorings is another community in Naples with a deeded private beach. During development more than a half-century ago, 500 feet of Gulf beachfront was set aside to be used exclusively by residents of The Moorings. An annual membership grants access to the Beach Park.
Mediterra Beach Club is yet another private club on Bonita Beach. With 200 feet of shoreline itself, the Mediterra club was completely renovated just last year.
