Parterre Gardens: Mediterra’s Most Exclusive Sanctuary

The Mediterra community of Naples is well known for its luxury homes, but its parks are also something truly special. The 1,700-acre community has three unique parks, all linked by miles of trails and pathways.

Perhaps the most exclusive sanctuary and largest park of all in Mediterra is Parterre Gardens. Almost reminiscent of a grand European garden, Parterre is on the smaller side, but it is rich in formality and beauty.

The sculpted garden boasts holly hedges, annual blooms, and a reflecting pool, flanked by 18 frog fountains, which come together in unique harmony. The park also offers some benches, making it a good place to bring a book and relax, or simply enjoy the landscaped surroundings.

The park sits close to Mediterra’s luxury villa neighborhoods of Lucarno and Cabreo. Made up of less than two-dozen homesites, the luxury homes of Cabreo start at around $1 million. The villas typically include three-bedrooms, three-baths, and anywhere from 2,800 to sometimes upwards of 3,200 square feet of living space. 

Carrying over the European-style elements of Parterre Gardens, the nearby Lucarno neighborhood features fountains and cobblestone streets. There are around 70 lakefront villas in Lucarno. The villas of Lucarno typically range from around 2,800 square feet to upwards of 4,000 square feet of living space.   

The second park in Mediterra is a three-acre park called Parque Celestial. This award-winning design features a labyrinth and a sun clock for mediation. There’s also a stargazing pavilion in the park. 

The third park in Mediterra is Calusa Play Park. Much like the name implies, this is an interactive kid’s park, but a portion of it is additionally contains some shell mounds. Along with the parks, Mediterra offers 36-holes of championship golf, dining options, fitness, bocce courts, a Sports Club with a swimming pool, and a private beach club.
